Vega Mayor, S.A. is the leading national company in the so-called "Cuarta Gama" (Fourth Range): clean, chopped and chilled vegetables and salads, ready to eat in individual bags or in bigger bags for collective consumption.

Through the group of companies 100% participated by Vega Mayor, an integrated production-distribution process has been developed covering all the steps from the growth of the vegetables through the handling and packaging in the plant to distribution at the point of sale, maintaining the cold chain at all times.

The company has recently created a new line of pre-cooked fresh products called "Quinta Gama" (Fifth Range): savoury pastries, pre-prepared dishes, sauces, vegetables, etc.

SODENA entered the company in 1999 with 300,000,000 euros, acquiring 2.38% of the share capital in a global operation in which the Government of Navarre granted Vega Mayor an aid package as a result of the construction of its new plant on the industrial estate of Milagro (Navarre), which entered service in early 2001.

In mid-2001 the French multinational SOLÉCO entered the company's capital through the acquisition of the majority shareholding from the financial partners.
