Industrias Savidai, S.L. launched its LORPEN brand on the market in 1997 with the aim of becoming the European leader in special socks for extreme sports. Nowadays, LORPEN is present in thirty-six countries all over the world. Founded in 1985 by residents of the village of Etxalar, since June 2002 Industrias Savidai has been able to call on the support and experience of SODENA, which has acquired forty-five per cent of its share capital.

In 2001 the company's new plant was inaugurated, where 39 people work to produce 1.2 million of the technically most advanced socks on the market. LORPEN is well situated in the ski, trekking, jogging and tennis markets, and is now starting to enter other segments such as golf or hunting.

The workforce is aware that the main competitive advantage of LORPEN is its ability to surprise the market, by being the first to incorporate an innovative feature and thus oblige its competitors to follow them or get out of the market.
