Type of investment:
Participation of SODENA: 45%

This company strengthens R&D+I activity in the agrofood and environmental areas

SODENA participates in the share capital of ECOENERGÍA SISTEMAS ALTERNATIVOS S.L., a company created to drive technological development in the treatment of waste and organic subproducts and the exploitation of residual heat. Its shareholder structure is completed by Ecoenergía Integral, S.A., a company based in Artajona. (55%).

The company already holds a patent for the treatment of pig purines, which it has licensed to Ecoenergia Navarra S.L. The company will also generate processes in the agrofood sector with an environmental bias, using proven equipment and procedures. Its laboratory and test centre is being built close to Ecoenergía Navarra, to which it offers R&D+I services.

ECOENERGÍA SISTEMAS ALTERNATIVOS aims to promote R&D+I in the agrofood and environmental areas on a national level, extending a culture of cooperation between different players in the science-technology-company system. It also sets out to foster the development and use of new technologies in line with the criteria of the Spanish Law of Prevention and Integrated Control of Pollution.

This business project is a one-off technological initiative in which a number of public research bodies have participated in the design, development and evaluation of different technologies for the treatment of subproducts and organic waste materials that are generated (mainly) in agrofood production processes.
