The company, located in Noáin (4 miles south of Pamplona), will be the first plant to manufacture therapeutic proteins in Spain, and will work on cell therapy and clinical and pre-clinical trials of biotechnological drugs.
The plant, which is expected to start production towards the end of 2008, is the result of the favourable evolution of the CIMA-Digna project and the specific need for the supply of proteins.
The main objective of the plant will be to supply 80% of biotechnology companies, mainly European and North American, that need to subcontract the industrial production of active ingredients for their biotechnological compounds that are under development. |
