The publicly owned company "Natural Climate Systems, S.A." comes under the Department of Industry and Technology, Commerce and Employment.

On 30 May 2005 the Government of Navarre signed an agreement putting the company "Natural Climate Systems, S.A." under the Department of Industry and Technology, Commerce and Employment, giving it the status of 'self-managing entity' and technical service of the region and related or dependent public bodies.

Navarre was the fastest-growing region in 2004

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Navarre grew by 3.68% in the 2004 financial year, a rate that puts it at the top of the ranking of Spanish regions for that year. The average growth rate in Spain was 3.27%, well above the 1.8% of the fifteen countries of the European Union before the enlargement, and also the growth rates of some major European economies, e.g. France (2.3%), Italy (1.1%) and Germany (1.2%).

SODENA acquires 1% of Iberdrola

The Society of Development of Navarre, Sodena, participated by the Government of Navarre (80%) and Caja Navarre, has acquired 1% of the shares of Iberdrola. The operation was completed with the purchase of 9,015,000 shares of the electric utility for 173.5 million euros.
