Sodena has formalised its participation (33% of the capital, with a total investment commitment of 535,288 Euros over two years) in the Navarre-based company Ingeniería Domótica S.L. with the aim of driving and leading the Domotics and Digital Household sector. This operation is the made by the Sociedad de Desarrollo de Navarra (SODENA) in the last six months, according to the guidelines included in the strategic plan that gives priority to initiatives in technology-based emerging and innovative sectors that are directly related to the service sector.

It is a commitment to a new sector with high added value, in increasing demand by the construction sector and society in general. Domotics is the series of systems that cover peoples' needs in the areas of energy saving, security, comfort, convenience and communications, aimed at achieving a better quality of life for users of an installation.

Ingeniería Domótica S.L. (www.ingenieriadomotica.com) is a company that specialises in telecommunication solutions for buildings, with two main lines of business:

• Domotics for the housing and service sectors: office buildings, hotels, schools, sports centres, etc.)
• Telecommunications projects related to the world of construction such as Common Telecommunications Infrastructure projects, structured cabling, urbanisation, consultancy, R&D+i and certification.

So far in 2006 Ingeniería Domótica S.L. has implemented telecommunications engineering projects and domotic and digital household projects for more than 3,500 homes in the north of Spain. As part of its expansion, Ingeniería Domótica S.L. envisages a presence in Madrid, Barcelona, Andalusia and eastern Spain over the next four years.

Created in 1999, Ingeniería Domótica has its registered offices in the city of Pamplona and its share capital is in private hands. Three of the shareholders (with a participation of 20%) also work in the company.
