Sodena supports Institución Futuro and signs agreements with other British think tanks December 2005 Institución Futuro, the think tank (or ideas laboratory) set up by entrepreneurs from Navarre, has signed agreements with other British institutes of this type. This collaboration, the result of a visit by the Board of the organisation to London, consists of cooperation in research projects, seminars, conferences and the exchange of publications. Institución Futuro has also joined “The Stockholm Network”, a European network covering more than 130 think tanks in the continent. It also has plans to cooperate with other institutes such as the Centre for Economy Policy Research, Demos, the Institute for Public Policy Research and the Centre for European Reform. The Board of Institución Futuro visited London at the end of November 2005 to hold a series of meetings with the main think tanks in the United Kingdom, according to information supplied by Institución Futuro. The objective of the visit was to exchange experiences and establish cooperation agreements. Meetings were held with senior personnel of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), The Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) and the Adam Smith Institute (ASI). The representatives of Institución Futuro also attended a reception offered by the Spanish Ambassador in London, Carlos Miranda, in the Spanish Embassy. The core event of the visit was a seminar organised in the offices of the Institute of Economic Affairs in which a debate was held on the values of a think tank and the influence this type of body has on society. Speakers in the seminar included John Blundell, Director General of the IEA, who stressed the need for "think tanks to maintain their independence”.
